Help us protect access to health, nutrition & housing for immigrant families and children! The Public Charge Rule the Biden administration published was a much clearer and moderate framework for immigrant families to access non-cash assistance programs like Medicaid and SNAP that help keep their children healthy! This was a welcomed change and badly needed – not just because it puts an end to an unfortunate chapter in our history during which a heartless, anti-immigrant administration used public policies to intimidate and punish immigrant families, but also because it makes clear that...

SIGN NOW to protect WIC! WIC is getting attacked from all angles. The House Republican budget not only holds our families hostage by calling for across-the-board cuts to programs like WIC in order to raise the debt ceiling to avoid default in the next two weeks, they also want to gut fruit and vegetable benefits by nearly 62%, dramatically decreasing access to nutritious foods for nearly five million women and kids enrolled in the program. With rising food costs, and increased program participation, it is more critical than ever that we strengthen WIC to provide pregnant people, new moms,...

Quick signature: Thank Biden for his Executive Order to improve care! This week, the Biden/Harris administration issued a bold, transformative, and badly needed Executive Order to improve our nation’s care infrastructure. At a time when millions of families cannot access or afford the child care, elder care, and/or disability care we need, these measures will support moms, family caregivers, care workers, businesses, communities, and our economy. Let’s keep up the MOMentum for child care, elder and disability care, paid family and medical leave, and a strong care infrastructure by thanking...

QUICK SIGNATURE: Important Update on How You Can Protect Medication Abortion! Access to mifepristone, a safe and effective abortion drug that has been used by more than five million people since the FDA approved it more than 20 years ago is still in terrible danger. Last night, the U.S. Court of Appeals of the 5th Circuit court issued a ruling that totally negates the needs of women, mothers, and people in need of immediate reproductive care! So we are teaming up with reproductive justice allies to file an amicus brief. This is our opportunity to make our voices heard and help the courts...

Send a Letter to the Editor to protect SNAP! Our families are struggling enough as it is to afford the rising costs of food. But now extremist Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives are planning to make it even harder for many families to feed their children by making massive cuts and restrictions to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP or food stamps). Members of Congress are home right now for their April recess and we want to flood local newspapers with messages on the importance of protecting SNAP. Send a Letter to the Editor to your local newspaper NOW speaking...

Watching the U.S. Senate confirmation hearings this week for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for U.S. Supreme Court Justice have been equal parts inspiring and frustrating. There have been times when I have wanted to stand up and cheer for Judge Jackson – and times when I’ve wanted to rage and throw things at my television because some Republican U.S. Senators were horrifyingly racist and sexist during the hearing. But, what stood out more than anything is the power that each of us have to persevere, to make a difference, and to let our voices be heard. Whether it’s an encouraging word to a...

Now, in 2022, there’s more work to be done to build the care infrastructure we all need in the Build Back Better programs, including maternal health equity, childcare and Pre-K, paid family and medical leave, extend the monthly Child Tax Credit checks, and expand home- and community-based services; as well as to protect our reproductive health, save...
