Your commitment to taking actions with MomsRising has been instrumental in driving positive change at both the state and national levels, and we want to express our deepest gratitude. We have recently decided to change the name of this weekly newsletter from 5Actions to “Risers Update!” The actions and their importance remains the same. We are so inspired by you and the work you do every day – including taking action on the top priorities for American families.

Thank you for being an essential part of our community. Here's to the future and the positive changes we'll continue to create together!

reproductivecaredeserts

Reproductive care deserts are becoming more and more prevalent these days.

Imagine this: You or someone you love just found out that they’re pregnant. Immediately, one wonders, “What are my next steps?” So naturally, you begin to search online for your nearest physician, only to find out that the nearest maternity ward has closed down and you have to travel nearly 50 miles for care. Now what?

This is the current reality for many women in communities across the country. We need Congress to step in immediately to ensure that every woman has access to affordable, high-quality and comprehensive reproductive care, including maternity care.

Join us and urge Congress to take action on the pressing issue of maternity care deserts that is currently plaguing rural communities and do more to protect expecting mothers and individuals in need of reproductive care!

EndDiaperNeed2023

Tell Congress to End Diaper Need, Co-sponsor TODAY!

The End Diaper Need Act of 2023 was introduced in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives just a few weeks ago! These pieces of legislation would help to alleviate the burden of Diaper Need, by investing $200 million each fiscal year from 2024 through 2027 to fund the expansion and scaling of programs addressing diaper need and improving the health and wellbeing of infants, toddlers, and families across the country. But we need your help! The End Diaper Need Act needs more support from Congress!

Urge your members of Congress to co-sponsor the End Diaper Need Act!

It’s Time to Reimagine Public Safety!

Now, more than ever, it is crucial for Congress to step up and support new inclusive, holistic, and health-centered approaches to dealing with crises that will reduce harm and truly keep our communities safe. State, local, and tribal governments across the country are already implementing innovative strategies to prevent violence, reduce harm, and improve the wellbeing of every community, especially Black and brown communities.

The People’s Response Act provides the resources and assistance to scale up these efforts and truly transform public safety in the United States. It would reframe how we think about and respond to crisis situations in this country with an approach that meets the demands and needs of our communities and this moment.

Tell Congress to Pass the People’s Response Act!
