Paid Sick Days
Paid sick days are a matter of economic security. No mother should have to choose between her job and taking care of a sick child. We are working to make earned paid sick days a right for all.
It is truly a new day in New Jersey, and in a few short months New Jersey will be a more just and fair place to live and work.
The Portland City Council is currently considering an earned sick days ordinance that would allow Portland workers to earn up to six paid sick days each year.

Senator Murray and Representative DeLauro swooped in this year (Super Woman style) with the reintroduction of the Healthy Families Act – national paid sick days legislation – which is a true win-win-win for working families, businesses, and the economy!
For a healthy workforce and economy, we need the Healthy Families Act! Urge your members of Congress to act swiftly to advance paid sick days.
Together with raising the minimum wage, paid family & medical leave, and equal pay, paid sick days help ensure the economic security of families across our nation, especially communities of color and Muslim, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ families, as well as rural communities, all of whom are disproportionately facing unjust and harmful actions from the Trump Administration.
