News release “It is shocking, disgraceful and flat-out wrong that the Trump administration put corporate interests ahead of the health and well-being of babies and mothers at the World Health Assembly meeting. Statement “The moms of America recognize President Trump’s nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh as the direct attack on women’s rights and freedoms that it is. If he is confirmed, Kavanaugh would alter the balance on the U.S. Supreme Court in ways that cause lasting damage to our ability to live and work free from discrimination, to get the health care and education we and our families need, and to block President Trump’s sexist, racist, xenophobic, anti-immigrant agenda.

Statement “The U.S. Supreme Court ruling this morning in Trump v. Hawaii is deeply disturbing. It will have an immediate and chilling impact on Americans who will not be able to reunite with loved ones, and it will mean patients go without life-saving health care and young people go without education.

Statement “Governor Snyder made a costly mistake today when he signed into law a harmful and unnecessary bill that will strip health coverage away from hundreds of thousands of low-income individuals and families in Michigan. The new law imposes strict work requirements on Medicaid recipients that will almost certainly lead to massive coverage losses for low-income families while increasing costs for the state.

Statement “With yesterday’s vote in the state legislature, Massachusetts moved one step closer to strengthening families and making the state’s economy more competitive by adopting a paid family and medical leave program. Whether taking time off time to care for a new child or a sick family member, being there for families is what matters. Yet too many Massachusetts workers are forced to make the impossible decision between earning a paycheck and caring for a loved one or recovering from illness or injury themselves.
