News release WASHINGTON, DC – The Center for American Progress Action Fund, I Am Progress, and MomsRising.org launched a new campaign today to promote fair pay for women in the workforce. Out of the Way of Fair Pay targets the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, calling on it to remove its opposition to the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and the Paycheck Fairness Act, two important federal pay equity reform measures.

News release Last August, Congress passed and the President signed a law prohibiting the sale of toys containing many dangerous toxins, but that law won’t go into effect until February. This leaves many toys containing dangerous toxins on the store shelves this holiday season. To help holiday shoppers preserve their peace of mind, MomsRising.org and HealthyToys.org have teamed up to give parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and others an easy way to avoid purchasing toys that contain dangerous chemicals.

News release Just in time for Halloween, MomsRising.org, the online grassroots organization for moms and everyone who has a mom, will be working with the Milwaukee Paid Sick Days Coalition and several Milwaukee-area moms to help city residents avoid the truly scary experience of not being able to take time off when they're sick. The organizations will be talking to Milwaukee residents about the importance of the paid sick days ballot measure and preparing kids for "Sick or Treat" on Halloween night, with free candy and “germ mask”-making activities:

News release Fifteen DC-area moms and MomsRising.org Executive Director Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner were turned away this afternoon when they attempted to deliver a letter to Governor Sarah Palin asking her to share her positions on issues like health care, paid sick days and flexible work options. The group was attempting to deliver the letter to the State of Alaska office in Washington, DC.
