Statement “Efforts by state lawmakers to suppress the votes of people of color. Extreme gerrymandering. Hard-working Americans locked out of the political process. Big money dictating our political agenda.

Statement “America’s moms thank President Biden, Vice President Harris, and every lawmaker who fought so hard for the American Rescue Plan. Each time a family goes to a grocery store instead of a food bank, each time a school reopens safely, each time a family can keep the heat on instead of shivering through the winter, we will know the American Rescue Plan is working. Every time a mom is able to re-enter the workforce, the American Rescue Plan is kicking in.

Statement “COVID-19 relief is on the way. More families will get unemployment checks large enough to cover their food, shelter and other essentials. Our child care system will be stronger and more stable. More of us will be able to access the vaccines and health care we need. There will be less hunger and homelessness in America. More schools will be able to reopen safely. Fewer moms and families with children will fall into poverty and remain stuck there for years because our tax system will work better for low-income families. More women will be able to hold and succeed in jobs.

Statement “We applaud the Biden Administration’s decision to end Trump’s harmful and disastrous public charge regulation that kept parents and children from seeking much needed resources to thrive during the global COVID-19 pandemic. Now that federal courts have dismissed the government’s appeals, the Trump public charge policy is no longer in effect, nationwide.

Statement “Today serves as a painful annual reminder of the unjust wage gaps Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) women face. On average, AAPI women in the United States are paid just 85 cents for every dollar paid to White, non-Hispanic men. Averages don’t tell the whole story, and AAPI women of some ethnic backgrounds face even more punitive gaps. For example, between 2015 and 2019, Samoan women were paid just 60 cents, and Burmese women just 52 cents for every dollar paid to White, non-Hispanic men. These racist, sexist gaps and the structural racism that drives them must end.

Statement “America’s moms applaud the Biden-Harris administration for this morning’s executive orders to establish a White House Gender Policy Council to advance equal rights and opportunity for women and girls; as well as to direct the U.S. Department of Education to review its policies for consistency with the Biden-Harris Administration’s intent to guarantee education free from sexual violence.

News release “At this time of acute crisis for working families, with women, moms and moms of color suffering outsized health and economic harm from the pandemic, we applaud the Washington State Senate for passing two bills that, if they become law, will help build a stronger, more fair economic infrastructure for the state’s families. Together, the new excise tax on extraordinary profits from capital gains and the Fair Start for Kids Act will help combat structural racism and sexism in our state and spur a just recovery from the pandemic.

Statement “America’s moms are pleased and enormously relieved that the U.S. Senate passed the American Rescue Plan this afternoon. We thank the Biden-Harris administration and Senate majority leaders for this victory. For millions of people in this country, passage of this package is, quite simply, a matter of survival.

Statement “America’s moms want Congress to pass a fair, inclusive Dream and Promise Act and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act very soon, so President Biden can sign them into law. Creating a path to citizenship for those in the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program has strong bipartisan public support. The introduction of these two bills in the U.S.
