News release Massachusetts moms are making a heroic effort to save the paid sick days legislation pending in the House Ways and Means Committee. Massachusetts MomsRising members will be delivering san-o-grams (small bottles of hand sanitizer with messages attached) to the members of the House Ways and Means Committee and House Speaker Robert DeLeo urging them to get An Act to Establish Paid Sick Days (HB1815/SB 688) out of Committee and to the House floor for a vote. News release North Carolina moms and kids built a giant tower out of children’s building blocks outside the Legislative Building this morning, spelling out a message for lawmakers as they head in to budget negotiations: Build a strong foundation for North Carolina kids. The mothers and children assembled the block tower, which spelled out “Build Our Future,” just before going inside to deliver individual building blocks to legislators working on the state budget.

News release California moms and kids will be making a spectacle of themselves this Wednesday at the State Capitol when they visit legislators’ offices to deliver eyeglass-o-grams (cardboard eyeglasses with messages attached to them) to urge the legislature to reject the Governor’s proposal to cut children’s vision and other benefits from the Healthy Families Program. News release On Mothers Day 2009, moms across the country learned that their loved ones considered them “Mom of the Year” when they received a unique and clever video via email in which a news anchor broke the story. The video, which was customized for each mom who received it, had more than 12 million views nationwide and helped the then three-year-old MomsRising organization (which created the video) increase its membership rolls from more than 150,000 to more than one million moms, dads and others across the country.

News release E-Mom-Ts (Emergency Mom Technicians) swept into the State House today in an attempt to rescue a crucial paid sick days bill from possible death, urging the leadership of the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing to vote on Act to Establish Paid Sick Days (HB 1803/SB 1073), which has been languishing in the Committee. The group of Massachusetts moms, kids and dads delivered “ambulance-o-grams” (toy ambulanced bearing messages from moms, dads, and others across the Commonwealth about the importance of paid sick days) to the chairs and vice-chairs of the Committee.
