Take Action
21.3 million people don’t have easy access to documents that prove citizenship like a U.S. birth certificate. The SAVE Act will make it harder for citizens to register to vote including millions of married women who have changed their last name.
The SAVE Act could strip 69 million married women, roughly 25% of the voting population, of their ability to register to vote simply because they changed their last name. By requiring proof of U.S. citizenship, the SAVE Act will disenfranchise millions of eligible voters.
