Statement “It is disgraceful that President Trump plans to divert $7.2 billion in funds allocated to the Pentagon this year to build his border wall, in addition to the $1.375 Congress authorized for this ill-advised project. If President Trump is once again able to divert these additional funds, a total of $18.4 billion in taxpayer dollars will have been used to build an environmentally harmful wall the nation neither wants nor needs – a wall that would stand forever as a symbol of hate and division.

Statement “The U.S. House of Representatives did its duty by impeaching President Donald Trump for trying to use his influence and taxpayers’ money to coerce Ukrainian leaders into interfering in our election. This was an egregious abuse of power and a clear violation of the President’s oath of office. The House conducted a thorough investigation that produced a mountain of evidence that the U.S. Senate must consider at a fair trial that includes testimony from witnesses and consideration of the evidence.
