Statement "We are delighted to see a real focus on jobs and economic security in President Obama’s proposed budget for the 2011 fiscal year. This budget takes some important steps toward making life better for families in the United States through provisions that recognize work/family balance policy as critical to job stability and economic security. An example is the provisions regarding paid family leave which will help states create insurance programs to help small businesses support new parents who need to take leave after the arrival of a new child.

Particularly in difficult economic times, we must make sure that all children have a healthy start, and prioritize important programs that bring long-term cost savings for taxpayers such as increased access to early learning.
