Migdalia is a Social Media and Content Strategist at MomsRising. She has over 14 years of experience in research, corporate compliance, and corporate housekeeping, as well as extensive working experience in social media marketing. She is the Founder and Editor of Latina On a Mission (LOAM), a nationally recognized Latina lifestyle blog and Stiletto Media, LLC, a multicultural blogger network.

LOAM has received numerous awards/recognitions including top NYC Mom Blogger in 2011, 2012 and 2013; Top Latina Parenting Mom Blogger , 2014 Must Follow Latina Blogger, top 8 Latino Bloggers for Social Good, and more. Migdalia has also worked on strategic marketing campaigns for major companies including Glamour, Go Red for Women and Go Red Por Tu Corazón, and the Hispanic Milk Campaign.

Migdalia is a single mother of two boys and two Australian Shepherds. Her oldest son, Karl Rivera, is a graduate of Wheaton College and holds a Master's Degree from the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. Her youngest son, Charles Andrew, is also on scholarship in a prestigious New York City school. She believes education can open doors and has instilled a love of learning in both her sons. Her dogs, on the otherhand, failed obedience school but she loves them anyway!

What's the best advice you ever got from your mom?

My mom repeatedly stated, "I cannot leave you riches but I can leave you an education that will open doors to a better life."
She was right! Money comes and goes, but an education and a life of learning, can never be taken from you. Its impact can be felt on our minds, bodies and livelihood. Her advise has served me well over the years and I now find myself repeating those same words to my sons.
