From Groceries to Gas: How Trumpflation is Hitting Home and What You Can Do About It
Have you recently gone to the grocery store, purchased items on your normal grocery list, and been shocked at the bill? NOT NORMAL AT ALL.
From the grocery store to the doctor’s office, families are getting squeezed by rising prices, and the culprit has a name: Trumpflation.
What is Trumpflation?
Trump promised to lower the cost of living on his first day in office. Instead, the opposite has happened, and his reckless policies are to blame. Costs are rising quickly under Trump. Food prices alone have risen by nearly 20 percent in recent years, and economists predict that costs will continue to rise.
Here are some of the harmful Trump policies pushing prices higher:
- Healthcare costs are expected to rise as much as 70% if massive proposed healthcare cuts by Trump and Republican leaders go through.
- Chaotic tariffs that act as a tax on consumers.
- The cancellation of work permits for millions of people with temporary work status, new barriers to lawful immigration, as well as terrifying immigrants who work in agriculture, construction, and care jobs.
Just look at what families everywhere are already facing:
- Vegetables are up 40 percent
- Coffee is up 33 percent
- Washing machines are up 12 percent
- Healthcare costs rising fast
You’re not imagining things when you look at prices and find yourself gasping out loud. Moms across the country are sounding the alarm — and MomsRising is turning that frustration into power.
Join the Fight: The Plan to End Trumpflation
Anytime you see a price tag or bill that makes your jaw drop, makes your blood pressure rise, or causes your stomach to sink, here’s what to do.
Snap a Price-Tag Photo
Take a picture of the price tag or bill. Whether it’s your grocery receipt, a prescription bill, a letter about increases to your healthcare premium, or your utility statement — capture a picture of what makes you say, “Whoa, that’s expensive!”
Important: Be sure to omit any personal information in your photo.
Share It Everywhere
Then, post your picture on social media with #Trumpflation as the hashtag AND tag @MomsRising so we can find it easily. Share on Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, or Bluesky.
Pro tip: Tag your member of Congress for bonus impact!
