Three moms with young children on laps

Thanks so much for your interest in the national “Stop the Squeeze” project! We’re so glad you’re with us! *All the How-To notes and tools are below when you scroll down.

What’s happening?
Like you, we’re fed up! Every time we check out at the grocery store, open a utility bill, fill the gas tank, or pay for health care and child care, or even look at our own impossible calendars, we feel it: Moms are being squeezed to the breaking point.

But this is the weird thing.  (Well, maybe not so weird).  History shows us that building power for much-needed solutions is often created one conversation at a time.

So you gathering a couple friends to discuss what’s "squeezing" you, and maybe play trivia, or plan to get out the vote, drink some lemonade, and be part of an effective movement!

Here’s how you can power-up while drinking some "Stop the Squeeze” lemonade: Just invite a couple of friends over (or to a park or coffee shop), pour some lemonade, and feel the power grow!  Scroll down for tips.

Here’s what you can do together:

Sample Agenda:  Welcome people, invite them to have a glass of lemonade (and maybe a cookie!), and then pick and choose from the activities below. *IMPORTANT NOTE: You don’t need to do all of the activities below, just pick the one(s) that seem the most fun to you.

  1. Share Your Lemons: Grab a lemonade and have a chat about the annoying "cost shocker" squeezes everyone is facing this year.
    • Here’s How: Go around in a circle and have each person share what costs are the biggest shocker “squeezes” for them in 2026.
    • Power-Up Bonus: Take a picture of your group and share it with MomsRising at info@momsrising.org – and also post it online with #MomSqueeze (and tag @MomsRising)

  2. Write a "Lemonade Letter" to Congress:
    • Here’s How: Pass around blank sheets of paper and invite people to write a quick, hand-written note to their member of Congress about how the squeeze is impacting their life.
    • Power-Up Bonus: Snap a photo of the letter and send it to us at info@momsrising.org and post it online with #MomSqueeze—we’ll personally deliver it to Capitol Hill! (Extra bonus points if you or kids draw a lemon on the letter!).

  3. Main Squeeze Trivia: Want some laughs?  Engage your group in a quick trivia game (We’ll provide the questions and answers!).
  4. Get Out the Vote: Help us sign up attendees to remind moms to vote.
    • Here’s How: Sign your friends up to help get out the vote!  Visit https://www.vote411.org/check-registration and check to make sure you’re registered to vote and share that link with three of your friends via text message and remind them to check their registration.
    • Power-Up Bonus: Snap a photo of the group and send it to us at info@momsrising.org– and post it online with #MomSqueeze.

Good news: If it’s helpful for you to track your invites, we have a free tool available for you to create an online RSVP page for your event. It’s a simple way for you to share the details of your gathering with your friends.  *Here’s the full URL to the free tool if beeded: https://www.mobilize.us/momsrisingtogether/c/moms-feel-the-squeeze/event/create/
