News release MomsRising.org, the grassroots and on-the-ground online organization for moms (and anyone who has a mom), today applauded New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine for making New Jersey the third state in the nation to adopt paid family leave. New Jersey MomsRising.org members lobbied, testified before Assembly and Senate committees, and made hundreds of phone calls, as well as sent tens of thousands of letters to legislators.  

News release HARTFORD – Supporters of the EverybodyBenefits.org campaign for paid sick days gathered in the Legislative Office Building to hand-deliver apples bearing messages from Connecticut residents urging state legislators to pass legislation guaranteeing paid sick days (SB 217). Online grassroots and on-the-ground organization, MomsRising.org, helped coordinate the effort to generate the messages.

News release They disagree about who should be the next President, but all the Democratic presidential front-runners do agree on expanding the Family and Medical Leave Act, ensuring a minimum number of paid sick days, increasing funding for child care and after-school programs, and raising the minimum wage, according to a survey released today by Take Care Net (TCN) and several other organizations that work to promote family-friendly policies. The survey addressed five major areas: education and child care; family and medical leave; family caregivers; paid caregivers; and general
