The wall. The wall. It’s all we heard about from candidate Trump… and now from President Trump. In fact, now that he’s president, he’s putting his ineffective and xenophobic rhetoric into action by proposing $1.6 billion ($1.6 billion!) for his ridiculous wall on the Southern border - all while proposing enormous cuts to programs that boost our families’ health, nutrition, education, and well-being. This hurts our families, communities, and economy.

We need YOU to stand up and say #BoostFamiliesNotFear! Sign our letter to Congress today!

Here’s the lowdown: President Trump released his budget request for fiscal year 2018 in May and it is devastating: He’s asking taxpayers to support massive cuts to programs for workers, women, children, people with disabilities, the LGBT community, rural communities, people of color, and seniors; all while providing tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires and wealthy corporations. At the same time, he is asking for an additional $4.5 billion to implement his destructive Executive Orders that have already played a role in ripping families and communities apart. Not to mention funding his ridiculous and dangerous vanity project on the Southern border, which will do little to address the issues our nation is facing and only serve to further ostracise and discriminate against our immigrant and Latinx families.

This no good, very bad, budget takes money from much needed services and instead funnels money into the implementation of expensive and xenophobic immigration policies--and the pockets of the very wealthy.

Tell Congress boost families, not fear! STOP massive cuts to programs that lift workers, women, children, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+, communities of color, and senior communities; while providing tax cuts for the wealthy!!

Instead of funding food for vulnerable families and job training that will rebuild our economy, Trump wants to spend $1.6 billion for a wasteful, xenophobic, and ineffective wall in addition to $1.8 million for the Department of Justice to create a legal team to seize private property from landowners

This hurts our families. It hurts our economy. And it does not reflect our American priorities.

Our tax dollars should be spent boosting our nation, not tearing it down, including by combating poverty, expanding access to healthcare, and promoting public safety. It should not be spent on a ridiculous  wall that doesn’t even begin to address comprehensive immigration reform, which is what our country really needs.

Stand with me and say boost families, not fear!. Click here to sign our letter to Congress today!

Our diversity — and people caring about each other — are what has made our nation strong, innovative and prosperous; not the opposite. This budget takes money away from our families and our economy to fund dangerous policy directions that hurt our families, economy,  communities, and our children’s future.

Join us in rejecting this budget and these policies!

There is so much needless chatter in Washington, D.C. right now. We will need as many strong voices as we can get to make sure we are heard and this xenophobic wall is not funded. → So after you take action, can you forward this email to your friends and family and then post the action link to Facebook and Twitter

Dear Member of Congress:

President Trump released his budget request for fiscal year 2018 in May and it is devastating: He’s asking taxpayers to support massive cuts to programs for workers, women, children, people with disabilities, the LGBT community, rural communities, people of color, and seniors; all while providing tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires and wealthy corporations.

Our diversity — and people caring about each other — are what has made our nation strong, innovative, and prosperous; not the opposite. This budget takes money away from our families and our economy to fund dangerous policy directions that hurt our families, economy, communities, and our children’s future.

We urge you to stand with our families and our collective economic welfare and reject the President’s budget request for fiscal year 2018, including his funding for the wall.

Together we can stand up for the liberty, justice, and freedom of every family in our country!
