Snow, sparkles, winter light, and... voting?  Wait a minute.  What does voting have to do with the holidays?!

This holiday season at MomsRising we're announcing the launch of.... drum roll please....

...MomsVote 2012!

And we need your support, your help, your good wishes, and all of your holiday cheer to help launch MomsVote 2012 so we can bring forward the votes and voices of women and moms across the nation in the 2012 election season.  With the launch of MomsVote, early next year we can start registering women to vote, educating the candidates about what matters the most to women and moms, engaging MomsRising members in the national political dialogue, and more.

*Can you donate $5 a month (or a $5 one-time donation now) -- the cost of a couple of cups of coffee -- to help launch MomsVote and to fuel this effort through the elections?

Every single dollar makes a difference.  All of our individual donations add up. So whether you can do $5 per month, a one-time donation of $5, or more; when we put all of our resources together, we can have a big impact.

And our MomPower is needed. Every single vote this 2012 election season is going to matter.

Elections, particularly local elections, are sometimes won or lost by fewer than 20 votes.  So activating moms across the nation through MomsVote 2012 can make a significant difference.

And too often the issues of women and mothers are overlooked in what, frankly, are often testosterone-driven sparring contests between candidates. (Women currently comprise only 17% of Congress, but that's another matter for another day).

It's time we started bringing MomPower to election issues!   And since just as soon as the holiday season ends, 2012 begins, there's no better time to launch MomsVote 2012 than now.

*Would you make a donation of $5 per month (or a $5 one-time donation now)  to launch MomsVote 2012 today?  https://action.momsrising.org/donate/2012_MomsVote_Launch/

Voting, educating the candidates about the issues that matter the most to women and moms, and finding out about election issues, are things that can get lost in busy schedules between work and raising kids, and well, life.  MomsVote 2012 will make it easy for busy women to exercise the hard won right to vote: It was in 1920, just 91 years ago, that the 19th amendment was passed, guaranteeing some American women the right to vote--with many women of color not winning full access to voting until the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act.  That was just 46 short ago!

At MomsRising we take the hard-won right for women to vote seriously, and through MomsVote we'll bring you information and ways to engage that you can fit into your own busy schedules.

*Please consider donating $5 per month today--the cost of a couple of cups of coffee--to help bring forward MomsVote 2012 as a powerful force: https://action.momsrising.org/donate/2012_MomsVote_Launch/

Thank you for helping fuel MomsRising, a bootstrap mom-run organization that's grown from a handful of members in 2006 to more than a million members today, mainly through members telling, and showing their friends, family, neighbors, and others that together we're a powerful force!

Enjoy the holiday season!
