It’s beyond belief that any member of Congress can continue to promote Trump’s health care bill that’s projected to make 23 million people lose their healthcare, but they do!!

23 million? Really? The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office just released their score yesterday on Trumpcare (a.k.a. American Health Care Act/AHCA) and one thing is clear: If passed by the U.S. Senate, it would be devastating to families and the economy.

In fact, if passed, not only would an estimated 23 million more people become uninsured by 2026, families across the country would be forced to pay more for basic coverage, and those with pre-existing conditions would likely be priced out of the market entirely.

*Sign on now! Tell your U.S. Senators: Not on our watch! The AHCA/Trumpcare is a threat to our children, families, and economy—and the moms and dads of America will not stand for it!

We need you to speak out! The extremists in Congress are hoping to wear us down, but moms just keep at it. We keep going for the sake of our kids. And when it comes to health care—and the lives of the people in this country—Congress should be working to make sure every person has access to the coverage and care that they need, not the opposite.

Instead, they’ve proposed gutting our nation’s cherished and highly effective Medicaid program and rolling back protections gained under Obamacare (a.k.a. Affordable Care Act/ACA), all to give enormous tax breaks to the wealthy (individuals, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies).

Let’s remind Congress that they work for us! Send a message to your U.S. Senators to reject Trumpcare. http://action.momsrising.org/sign/protect_ACA_reject_AHCA/

The proposed cuts to Medicaid are disastrous and would mean that millions of families, mothers, children, and the elderly would lose their insurance. And families with health insurance through the individual market would see their costs skyrocket. These impacts would be particularly severe for women of color and women in rural areas. In fact, Medicaid has long played an even larger role in providing health coverage and paying for care in rural areas than in urban areas. Nearly 1.7 million rural Americans have newly gained coverage through the Medicaid expansion, many of them women.

To be clear, the enactment of the AHCA/Trumpcare would be an absolute crisis for our economy and nation, particularly for those who are in vulnerable communities, including: low-income families, people with disabilities, rural communities, and the elderly; with a compounding impact in Black, Latinx, Asian, Native American, and LGBTQ+ communities.

*Our voices are making a difference! We are hearing that many members of Congress are very nervous about how voters will react when they lose their health care coverage. We need everyone to speak out! Send a message to your U.S. Senators to keep the ACA in place. http://action.momsrising.org/sign/protect_ACA_reject_AHCA/

Some members of Congress are out of touch not only with their constituents, not only with real families, but also with the foundational principles of what’s made our nation great: People and communities caring about each other, and the diversity of our nation, is what has made our nation strong, innovative, and prosperous; not the opposite.

Health care security is integral to our freedom to pursue the American Dream, which includes big decisions like when and how to start a family. Trumpcare builds a wall between millions of low-income women and their doctors by defunding Planned Parenthood, as many low income women have no other health care provider. Families need stability and reliability in their health care coverage!

Tell the U.S. Senate: Don’t take our families’ health care away and hurt our economy! http://action.momsrising.org/sign/protect_ACA_reject_AHCA/

We've come a long way as a nation together, and we’re not turning our backs on each other, or on the American Dream, now.
