I’m coming to Pittsburgh to meet with Senator Toomey and I need your help!

Can you join me and other moms from the Pittsburgh area for a meeting with Senator Toomey and his staff on July 8th?

While our Senators are back in their home state over the 4th of July recess we want to take this opportunity to talk to them about an important issue to our families: working family tax breaks, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit. If Congress doesn’t act soon key provisions of the EITC and Child Tax Credit will expire, pushing nearly 16 million people—including 8 million children and many military families—into poverty and making it harder for tens of millions more families to pay their bills, including families in Pennsylvania. These tax credits help boost our families and our economy! It’s important that Senator Toomey hear from moms like you, so we can provide him with the support he needs to vote to strengthen and protect these tax credits. We also want to encourage him to move legislation forward this year that would make these tax breaks permanent so our families continue to receive the EITC and Child Tax Credit, and we avoid millions of people falling into poverty.

When Senators hear directly from constituents in their home state about an issue, they pay attention. And Senator Toomey is especially important in deciding whether the EITC and Child Tax Credit are strengthened and protected.

Can you stand up for families across your state and the nation by coming with us to deliver stories and a letter from moms and dads around Pennsylvania. In addition, we will be presenting the Senator with a MomsRising superhero cape to encourage him to be a superhero for moms and children! This will be a fun meeting and an opportunity for you to share with the Senator and his staff the importance of working family tax breaks.
