We have an Administration that is separating children from parents. America’s mothers stand side-by-side with asylum-seeking parents in rejecting our government’s efforts to tear families apart.

The members of MomsRising are outraged by how the Trump administration is targeting immigrant children, women, moms, and families.

Make no mistake, when pregnant immigrant women are being detained, and denied the health care they need, it’s also a women’s issue.

When asylum-seeking parents come here only to be torn apart from their children -- and when children are purposefully separated from moms by our government  – it’s a also women’s issue.

When our country detains women who are fleeing brutal domestic violence at the courthouse door, it’s also a women’s issue.

That’s why we are out in force across the entire country today, to demand immigration and refugee policies that protect and respect the rights and safety of women, families, and children.

Families. Belong. Together. #FamiliesBelongTogether

Our team is joining ACLU, National Domestic Alliance, UnitedWeDream, We Belong Together, MoveOn.org, the Women's March, and many other organizations for the National Day of Action for Children. We are calling on Congress to enact legislation that affirms the dignity of immigrant women & children and of our nation.

Check out our pictures from communities across the country and the coverage from the hashtag on Twitter. If you'd like to see more pictures, visit our National Day of Action Facebook album.

If you were not able to join an event, you still can make your voice heard! How? Two ways:

1. Make a call to Congress: 1-855-440-1800.

2. Sign our petition and tell Congress that that separating children from the parents is cruel and inhumane!

It's time for all us to speak out, to stand for children, to spread the word around to our friends about what's happening so they can raise their voices, too.
