MomsRising heroism abounds: Texas MomsRising member Valerie brought water bottles for the meeting participants who were scheduled to meet outside in 107 degree weather. She writes, “Now tell me if that isn’t dedication to the cause.” Indeed. And despite this adversity she added, “Thanks to MomsRising.org for bringing the hidden activist out of so many of us women! " Thank YOU, to the Texas members who inspire moms across the nation.

And then there was Kansas MomsRising member Claire, who was so committed to speaking to Senator Brownback personally that she walked him to his car with her child in tow. Go Claire!

MomsRising member Ewa, from Michigan, reports that during her meeting with Senator Stabenow’s staff in Flint, Michigan, Stabenow’s staff member not only took notes on individual concerns but helped some of our members resolve current health care problems.

In North Carolina, a group of moms, dads, kids and one grandmother met in Raleigh, North Carolina with Senator Hagan’s staff and Representative Brad Miller. One member wrote this fantastic blog describing how moving the experience was.

There have been so many wonderful highlights of the Senate meetings so far, that we put this page of photos and quotes together for you to enjoy the meetings too.

As Congress returns this week to focus again on passing healthcare reform, these meetings continue to be critical to ensure that mother’s voices are heard in this important national conversation. It's not to late to get involved! To attend or host a Senate meeting in your area, click here.

Thanks for all of your amazing work!
