MomsRising CEO/Executive Director Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner mails her ballot.

Yesterday, I got out my vintage orange pantsuit, turned up the volume on RESPECT by Aretha Franklin, put pen to ballot, affixed stamp to envelope, and inserted mail into mailbox to vote! (And I confess to feeling oddly giddy and empowered while voting in my bright orange pantsuit.)

It’s really happening! With just 7 days to go, already 22 million people have voted. But it’s not over yet… Polls are narrowing by the minute, which means every single vote is going to matter. Which means YOUR vote matters. Really, really matters.

Click the above link if you’ve voted or are planning to vote by COB Tuesday, November 8th.

After you click, share this blogpost on Facebook or Twitter to urge your friends to join you in voting! We know that friends sharing with with friends on Facebook that they’re voting is a highly effective way to inspire others to vote. And too many people are feeling disgusted at the negative tenor of this election which is causing them to consider sitting this election out if not urged by their friends to vote. Let’s get this voting party started!)

If ever there was an election to #VOTE in, it's this one! This election can't come to an end soon enough for me. And I'm done talking about Hillary Clinton's email. News reports are showing the latest email situation doesn't even involve emails from her or from her server. Enough is enough. It's time to vote and move on.

I know my vote feels even more significant this year than others. The polls are close and every vote is needed.

Make a plan to vote and make it fun! Consider putting on a special voting outfit (Orange pantsuit, anyone? Wear white for the suffragettes?), select your voting anthem song to get fired up while you vote (I picked RESPECT by Aretha Franklin. What’s yours?), maybe even choose some left-over Halloween candy to eat as a reward as you vote for your choice in every single race on the ballot!

** Make voting fun!  Get this election over and done!

It’s up to us to amp up voting!  After all, much of this election has been far from fun so far. The fact-not-fiction words of award-winning author Salman Rushdie on his Facebook page are sticking with me. Here’s a summary:

“To recap. Trump will go on trial in November accused of racketeering. He is a sexual predator, hasn't released his tax returns, and has used his foundation's money to pay his legal fees. He has abused the family of a war hero and... oh, but let's talk about some emails Hillary didn't send from someone else's computer, that weren't a crime anyway, because that's how to choose a president. Come on, America. Focus.”

We're so close to this election being over - now's the time to make a plan, and vote.  Get it done.  And celebrate taking the next step toward making America a more perfect union where everyone can thrive.

Happy voting!!!
