Our members did it again! After receiving messages from MomsRising members, Speaker of the U.S. House, Nancy Pelosi, is now also wearing the MomsRising pacifier pin as she joins us in not being pacified until Congress delivers comprehensive and affordable coverage for children and families. Right now it's critically important that we keep pushing healthcare reform forward--and make sure that kids aren't left out of the debates in Congress. Did you hear about the latest insanity? The Today Show reported that kids are now being denied healthcare coverage simply due to their size ("too large" or "too thin") without any other healthcare problems.[1]

Being born can now be a pre-existing condition!? This has simply GOT to change! And, the clock is ticking on health reform.
*Urge your Congressional Representatives to show that they too won't be pacified until healthcare reform is passed that works for all kids and families!

By clicking the easy link above you'll be able to send your members of Congress a letter now telling them that healthcare reform is a priority for you and asking them to wear MomsRising's pacifier pin to show that they join us in not being pacified until healthcare reform is done right for children and families.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was the first to get his picture taken with the pin-and Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other great Members of Congress are wearing their pins right now! Our next step is to build on our momentum and put more pressure on Congress!

Why are we pinning down Congress? Imagine sitting around a table negotiating who's going to be covered by healthcare reform, and who's not going to be covered, with industry lobbyists, and then looking up to see a Congressional colleague's pin as a reminder that many people need coverage who don't have a powerful lobby, i.e. kids.
Our MomsRising pins put kids in the healthcare negotiating meetings-right on the lapels of decision makers!

Health reform is getting a lot of attention, but the headlines focus on adults. Even with great public healthcare programs like Medicaid and CHIP, millions of children remain uncovered and under-insured. Congress needs to make sure all kids benefit from health reform.

* Don't forget to tell your Congressional Representatives to stand up for kids and families and show their support by wearing the MomsRising pin!

Please tell your friends and family about this blog post. Kids need every adult voice to speak up right now!

Thanks for all your work!
