I am a MomsRising volunteer Beacon community leader in Georgia.  Three other Georgia Beacon volunteers and I recently  organized an in person MomsRising Meet-up in Atlanta.  The four of us invited our friends and family to join the gathering, and we ended up having about 50 people there ranging in age from 1 to 80 years old!  The goals were to introduce others to MomsRising; invite people to share why they are interested in MomsRising topics such as child care, maternal justice, paid family leave, and others; and take action together on MomsRising petitions.

The MomsRising Meet-n-Greet November 12, 2023 was definitely an event I will never forget! I am truly thankful to Evergreen Baptist Church for hosting us. I was in a room with some amazing women and a couple of men too. My favorite quote from both of the men is that “we have learned that women get things done!” We laughed and cried together. We discussed hard topics that we are facing as moms. The room was full of energy and solutions to the problems. Now we just need Congress to listen to The People. We just want to live a sustainable lifestyle without having to stress and struggle over basic needs.
