Many people haven’t heard of these meetings, but they are a powerful way to make your voice heard as a parent in Florida.

What Are Delegation Meetings?

Legislative delegation meetings are public meetings held in each region of Florida before the start of the state legislative session. Anyone can sign up to speak or simply attend.

At these meetings:

• Florida Senators and Representatives from your district listen to their constituents.

• Community members share their top concerns and possible solutions.

• Issues like child care, education, and family well-being are discussed directly with decision-makers.

If you want your elected officials to fight for positive changes, these meetings are a key tool in your advocacy toolbox.

• To Speak: The Delegation will convene Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., to review all proposed local bills as required by the Delegation Rules. Local bills are changes enacted by the Florida Legislature on matters which cannot be accomplished by the City of Jacksonville through Ordinance Code changes.
