MomsRising is hearing that some members of Congress are plotting to put Medicaid on the chopping block.

We need YOU to help us tell them, “HANDS OFF!” because millions of families depend on it to stay afloat.

RSVP here to attend our February 24th event on the Hill: http://action.momsrising.org/sign/RSVP_Hill_Medicaid/

Medicaid is a critical support for families, especially those of us who are caring for children, have aging parents, or have family members with disabilities. Overall, Medicaid provides health coverage for approximately 68 million people, including 1 in 3 children, low-income pregnant women, children and adults with disabilities and chronic illnesses, and the elderly (including 70% of all nursing home residents).

Are you available the morning of Tuesday, February 24th to come to Capitol Hill, meet with key Senators and/or their staff to discuss your support of Medicaid, and deliver the stories of moms and dads from around the country (along with adorable rubber duckies!)? No experience is necessary! All you need is to care about providing quality, affordable healthcare for struggling families or have a personal story about how Medicaid helped you or a family member or friend.

Who: DC area moms and kids who care about guaranteeing that all families are able to access quality, affordable healthcare. Feel free to bring your kids and your friends, family, sisters, neighbors…the more the merrier!

What: We will be meeting with key Senators and/or their staff who will be making decisions about Medicaid. We also will be delivering storybooks from moms and dads around the country….AND rubber duckies (to remind them that Medicaid helps keep families afloat!)

When: Tuesday, February 24th from 9:30am-around 12:30pm

Where: Senate Office Buildings on Capitol Hill. (Once you RSVP we will send around more detailed information about where we will be meeting)

To RSVP go here: http://action.momsrising.org/sign/RSVP_Hill_Medicaid/

We can’t wait to see you on Capitol Hill on February 24th!

P.S. Even if you can’t personally attend this event, we would love to hear about your experiences with Medicaid. Go to this link to share your thoughts: https://www.momsrising.org/member_stories/topic/share-your-medicaid-story-with-momsrising/
