I'm a person who likes to double check – everything.  Since becoming a mom, I’m now more of a triple checker.  I double and triple check car seat buckles and diaper supplies. I double and triple check schedules with my husband, and I double and triple check if my daughter needs to go to the bathroom before we get in the car.

Today on National Voter Registration Day, I’m double checking, triple checking my voter registration status -- and making sure my friends and family are also empowered to register to vote or double check their voter registration status. The election is only 42 days away and we need to make sure that everyone can vote because the voices of families need to be heard this election.

*What about you? If you're not registered to vote in the state where you live, register to vote today!

Why do you need to double and triple check your voter registration?

Polls are showing that a high voter turnout is expected for the November 6th election.  Your friends, family, and community are planning to vote.  Now it's time to make sure that everyone who wants to vote, can vote.

Even if you think you can vote, there are many reasons to double and triple check that your voter registration is up-to-date today: Have you moved recently, or changed names? You may need to update your registration.  Were you unable to get to the polls in the last few national elections? If so, you definitely should double check your registration now because your name may have been removed from registration rolls.

Moms get busy and it can be easy to let something like voter registration slide to the bottom of your “to-do” list when the election seems so far away. Did you know that in 2008, 6 million Americans didn’t vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn’t know how to get registered?  [1] Don’t let that be you, or your friends and family!

*Many state election voter registration deadlines are right around the corner so take a moment today to double, triple check your registration status -- and if you’re NOT already registered to vote, be sure to register to vote today using this easy link below.

And be sure to forward this to all of your friends and family so they can double and triple check their voter registration status too. Let’s empower everyone to vote this year!  It's expected to be a high voter turnout and we don't want anyone to be disappointed on Election Day that they can't vote due to voter registration issues!

Together we are a powerful force for women and families.
