Pennsylvanians Are Feeling the Squeeze! Pop-Up Lemonade Stands in Harrisburg, Scranton and Bethlehem Will Hold Republican Lawmakers Accountable for Rising Costs

Families Will Discuss How Soaring Costs Are Squeezing Their Budgets

On Monday and Tuesday, MomsRising Together and Pennsylvanians Together in Action  will host pop-up lemonade stands in Harrisburg, Scranton and Bethlehem to hear from local families about how the soaring cost of gas, groceries, health care, child care and other essentials is squeezing their budgets. 

Each event will feature a giant “receipt” holding U.S. Reps. Scott Perry (Harrisburg), Rob Bresnahan (Scranton), and Ryan McKenzie (Bethlehem) accountable for expensive broken promises, contrasting their campaign pledges with their voting records, and illustrating what life costs for families thanks to policies they support. 

The lemonade stand was unveiled this morning (Friday, September 25) outside U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick’s office in Langhorne. 

The events are open to the media. They are part of Economic Security Project Action’s “The Price Is High” Week of Action from September 23-30, a coordinated, affordability-focused accountability push in key competitive districts across the country.

    • Harrisburg: Monday, September 28 at 10am ET on the steps of the State Capitol 

    • Scranton: Monday, September 28 at 2pm ET. The lemonade stand will be outside Sen. Dave McCormick’s office (417 Lackawanna Ave Suite 303) and then brought, with a giant receipt, to Rep. Rob Bresnahan’s office (116 North Washington Avenue Suite 101)

    • Bethlehem: Tuesday, September 29, at 10am ET at Payrow Plaza (10 E Church St)
