This summer, MomsRising members turned up the heat during Congress’s back-to-school summer recess. Across the country, families gathered to push back against the Trump administration and GOP-led Congress’s “Big Bad Budget Bill” — legislation riddled with devastating cuts to education, Medicaid, SNAP, and other programs kids and families rely on.

MomsRising volunteers organized more than 40 on-the-ground events in 24 states, mobilized members online, generated national and regional media coverage, and hosted community meetings with education and policy experts. Together, these actions delivered a clear message to lawmakers: Don’t let this administration erase our children’s future. Protect strong public schools, healthy families, and thriving communities.

On-the-Ground Awesomeness Summary

We’re incredibly proud of how our members rose up to meet the urgency of this moment this summer. Together, they created an inspiring wave of grassroots activism that reached lawmakers right in their home communities.

Parents, kids, and community leaders painted postcards, swapped school supplies, delivered giant erasers (Don’t Erase Our Children’s Future!) and storybooks to congressional offices, and met face-to-face with elected officials — all to spotlight the urgent need to defend children, families and local communities from Trump’s harmful cuts. From coast to coast, our amazing volunteers brought such creativity, heart, and fierce determination to this fight.

We’re inspired by how they made their voices heard. Here’s a map and summary of the beautiful work they did across America.

We are grateful (and impressed) for our members' unwavering advocacy, dedication, and commitment during this summer campaign. When moms unite with a shared purpose, we are an unstoppable force for positive change.

MomsRising members delivered a copy of this storybook (pdf here), a Cliff’s Notes summary, of the many many stories we’ve heard from our volunteers across the country about the harm that is caused by slashing funding for public education, Medicaid and SNAP.

Capturing the Action: Photos From Our Summer of Advocacy

Nothing captures the heart and energy of this movement quite like seeing our members in action. These photos tell the story of families across the country who turned their concern into courage and their love for their families into a powerful force for change.

Take a look at some of the inspiring moments our members created this summer:

MomsRising New Hampshire State Moms Force Fellows met with NH Sen. Maggie Hassan at a local coffee shop to discuss the rising costs impacting New Hampshire families. Shirley Tomlinson, Glory Mukendi from Manchester, Mandie Michniewicz from Pembroke, Amanda Hobbs from Hooksett, and Rachelle Enes from Hampstead shared their personal experiences and voiced concerns affecting families across the state.

Fifteen MomsRising volunteers and families joined Beacon Hub Leaders Ashley Comans, Alana Griffin, Lorita Gillespie, Melissa Constantino, and Ashley Harland for a “Painting, Power and Postcards” event. Participants created art, discussed threats to education, Medicaid, and SNAP, and wrote to U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick and the Pennsylvania delegation urging them to maintain funding.

New Beacon Hub Leader Benita Arnold delivered to U.S. Rep. Frank Mrvan (IN-01) at his fundraiser.

Beacon Hub Leader To-wen Tseng delivered a MomsRising storybook and a giant eraser prop to the office of U.S. Sen. Padilla, urging him to continue supporting public education.

New Beacon Hub Leader Diana Zuluaga visited the office of U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23).

New Beacon Hub Leader Gayle Hoisington met with U.S. Rep Chris Pappas (NH-01), to share the impact of rising costs on New Hampshire families.
