WE WON! Big news for Florida families (and a quick favor)
I have some incredible news to share: We did it! We stopped the vaccine roll back!
Thanks to the tireless advocacy of parents, families, and health advocates across the state, the dangerous proposals to roll back childhood vaccine requirements in Florida have been stopped. People like YOU are part of this massive victory for the health and safety of our children, our schools, and our entire community. THANK YOU!
When we raised our voices together, we sent a clear message: We will not compromise on the public health standards that keep our kids safe from preventable diseases.
**Now, we need to make sure the leadership knows we appreciate them doing the right thing.
Florida Speaker of the House Daniel Perez played a critical role in ensuring these rollbacks didn’t move forward. Speaker Perez didn’t just take the bill off the table in special session, he made a strong statement echoing the concerns of so many families across the state, noting he has concerns about students being in school who aren’t vaccinated for diseases, including measles and chicken pox, “that have kind of been working for decades. That was something that I was uncomfortable with, but I stated that very clearly over the last couple of months.”
Finally, some common sense! And that’s why it’s critical we do this thank you card. Because as moms we know positive reinforcement can go a long way.
In politics, leaders often only hear from people when they are unhappy. It is just as important to speak up and say "thank you" when a leader stands up for our families so they will keep doing it. It reinforces that protecting public health is a priority for their constituents.
Will you take 30 seconds to sign our official "thank you" card to Speaker Daniel Perez?
By showing our gratitude, we ensure that Speaker Perez knows Florida families support science-based health policies and expect our leaders to keep our children’s safety first. Click here to add your name to the card.
Thank you for being part of this movement and for everything you do to keep Florida's families healthy and strong.
