I will not stand by and watch my family’s health coverage be stripped away.
Earlier this month, a federal judge in Texas ruled the Affordable Care Act (ACA) unconstitutional. While the fight is not over, this is a clear and immediate threat to my family, and to the millions of people like us who depend on the lifesaving protections of this law.
Join forces with me and MomsRising and FIGHT BACK. Make a contribution now — while every dollar you give will be doubled by another donor! — to protect our health care rights and to make America better, safer, and more just for ALL us.
The ACA has been a life saver for my family.
When my son was born in 2006, he needed chemotherapy to treat a life-threatening tumor. He needed round-the-clock care, so I quit my job to care for him, which meant we lost our employer-sponsored health insurance. We were incredibly fortunate that he qualified for Medicaid, but after a lapse in coverage for myself, I found out I was uninsurable due to some minor pre-existing conditions.
I remained uninsured for a few years while I cared for my son. It wasn’t until the ACA was passed, which made it illegal for insurance companies to deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions, that I was able to buy affordable health insurance coverage on the Marketplace.
The truth is, this law prevented my family from slipping into poverty.
Now Republicans want to destroy the ACA and put my family and more than 130 million people with pre-existing conditions at risk again.
The moms of America fought back more than 70 times when Congress tried to repeal the ACA. 70 times! And we made our views on health care very clear in the election last month.
We cannot stop now. We need YOU with us!
Thank you for your commitment to women, moms and families in America.
