“At last! Today four Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives joined with Democrats to force a vote on extending the premium tax credits that make health coverage affordable for tens of millions of moms and families. With those tax credits set to expire on December 31st, Speaker Johnson should hold that vote this week and the U.S. Senate should do the same. Unless they do, millions of families will soon be without health coverage, with dire consequences not just for them but also for our entire health care system and all of us who depend on it.

“For months, America’s moms have been demanding that Congress take action to protect our health care – but Republican leaders and President Trump have turned a deaf ear. That changed today and we are proud that three of the four Republican representatives who finally stepped forward are from Pennsylvania, where many of our 58,000 MomsRising members have signed petitions, held personal meetings, delivered personal stories, and organized creative events like painting parties, to demand that they act.
