Take Action!

Imagine this...It’s late on November 3, 2020. You are glued to the TV watching the election results come in and the candidates for President are neck and neck. Suddenly, there is a news flash – reports are coming in that another country has hacked our elections and no one can verify the results.
Want to avoid this nightmare?

Today is a national call-in day for election security — and our success depends on people like you taking a minute to let your U.S. Senators know you want them to take action to secure our elections.

We need your voice! Tell your U.S. Senators and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to take action now to secure our elections!

Here is what you can do right now to remind lawmakers that our elections matter. (You don’t have to do them all to make a difference. Just doing one of the below will help save democracy!)

  • Call them! Just dial 1-888-907-9957 and we’ll connect you and provide a script.
  • Email them. Our tool makes sending a short note to your lawmaker quick and easy. (We provide a template letter that you can edit before you send.)
  • Write a letter to the editor. Use our simple tool to quickly and easily send a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. Don’t worry—sending a letter to the editor is super easy! When you click on the link above, we’ll lead you through a quick process to write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. This tool is pretty magical—you can easily edit our pre-drafted letter if you wish (inserting your personal story if you have one!), and send it to your paper with just a few clicks.

The entire national security community agrees that election interference in 2016 was only a preview of what's to come unless Congress acts. Yet the U.S. Senate has failed to allocate critical election security funding for states and localities.

Our Senators need to know that we demand immediate action to secure our vote ahead of upcoming elections. Though Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation resulted in 37 indictments or guilty pleas and 5 prison sentences, those indictments won't stop Russia, or another hostile foreign power, from interfering in our elections.

This is not a drill! A bipartisan U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee published its report on Russian efforts to influence our election and the conclusions are frightening. Among other findings, the bipartisan Committee concluded that the Russians probably targeted election systems in all 50 states

Moreover, we know that Russians are not the only actors who might seek to undermine our elections. The Department of Homeland Security says non-Russian hackers are also targeting our election infrastructure

We need to raise our voices on this important issue in a highly visible way by filling newspapers across the country and by calling lawmakers with our message!

Congress must take strong action to deter foreign nations from attempting to disrupt our elections and ensure that states secure their elections and have a paper ballot trail that can be audited if questions arise about the legitimacy of an outcome.

Take action now! Tell your U.S. Senators and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to take action to secure our elections by writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper!

There are numerous bills that have been introduced to secure our elections, but U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has refused to advance these bills to a vote. Mitch McConnell has been standing in the way of all attempts to secure the vote.

Every U.S. Senator should hear loud and clear that we demand they not succumb to McConnell’s obstruction.

It’s time for U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell and the rest of our leaders to stand up for America’s democracy. Ensuring that our elections are free from tampering from foreign or domestic actors is not a partisan issue, it’s an American issue that is critical to the future of our democracy.

The more people who speak out, the bigger our impact. So please take a moment to forward this message to your friends and family, and/or post the action links on social media, so they can take part in the national day of action, too!

Together we are a powerful voice for democracy in our country.
