What is that up in the sky? Is it a bird? A plane? Nope! It's a kite!

Join MomsRising (and a bunch of kites!) as we fly into action in Raleigh to remind NC lawmakers that when we lift up babies and families, we all can soar!

MomsRising is excited to join our partners at the Think Babies NC Alliance for a morning of child-friendly fun at the NC General Assembly. Strolling Thunder: A Think Babies NC Advocacy Day is headed back to Raleigh for the first time since the pandemic began to make sure NC lawmakers hear loud and clear why it’s so important to invest in the programs and policies that babies and families need to thrive. This will be a short legislative session, so it’s critical that lawmakers hear your voices now.

RSVP to join us! There will be kites, crafts, fun, and the chance to make a big difference for NC families. The event is FREE and travel stipends are available, so register now.

On Thursday, June 9th, from 10-11:30 am, the Think Babies NC Alliance (of which MomsRising is a proud member!) is hosting its 5th annual Strolling Thunder Advocacy Day to bring attention to what babies and families need to thrive: healthy beginnings, supported families, and quality early care and learning experiences.

This Covid-cautious event will be outside, in person, at the NC General Assembly in Raleigh from approximately 10:00 - 11:30 am, with the option to enter the General Assembly buildings afterwards to deliver crafts and messages to lawmakers if you’re comfortable.

We’ll hear from special guest speakers, have playtime on the lawn with legislators, kite flying, crafts and coloring, a group stroll around the legislative building, and other activities for children as we raise our voices for what babies and families need to thrive.

We would love to have you and your children of all ages join us for any and all of these activities to help show policymakers why it’s so important to invest in children and families in our state!

Travel stipends are available for parents of young children, child care providers, and teachers, and Spanish interpretation will be provided – register now to come join us!

It's time for each and every one of us to take action and tell North Carolina’s leaders to invest in strategies to support our youngest North Carolinians and advance equity. Our babies can’t wait!

Click here to register today – we can't wait to stroll with you in person again this year!

Together we can ensure all NC families soar!
