Thursday in Carlisle: Pennsylvania Moms and Kids to Discuss Affordability, Care Crisis with Members of the Congressional Democratic Women’s Caucus
Magen Eissenstat, 202/609-9889
U.S. Representatives Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), Becca Balint (VT-AL), and Teresa Leger Fernández (NM-03) will join a community forum in Carlisle Thursday evening to meet local moms and caregivers to discuss policy solutions that will lift Pennsylvania women, workers, and families. Rep. Leger Fernandez is the Chair of the Democratic Women’s Caucus, Rep. Houlahan serves on the Caucus’ Executive Steering Committee and Rep. Balint is a proud member of the Caucus.
At the forum, Carlisle-area families will share personal stories about the challenges they are facing as the cost of gas, groceries, health care, child care and other essentials skyrockets and paid family and medical leave remains inaccessible for the majority of Pennsylvanians.
The event is free and open to the media. It will include food, kid-friendly activities, and gift bags for families. The community forum is organized by MomsRising Together in partnership with Pennsylvanians Together in Action, Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania Advocates, Affordable PA, Northern Dauphin Democracy Coalition, Workforce PA, and Red, Wine, and Blue.
