Washington, DC —On Thursday, December 18 at 12PM ET, America's Voice and Executive Director Vanessa Cárdenas will convene a virtual discussion, with elected officials and policy experts to wrap a busy year on immigration and to take stock of the harms of the anti-immigrant agenda on children, the economy, our communities, and legal immigration.
Speakers include Raleigh, NC, Mayor Janet Cowell, a former state treasurer, to discuss the impacts of the mass deportation agenda on communities and our economy; Donna Norton of MomsRising and Chicago-based pediatrician Dr. Minal Giri to discuss the harms on children and families; and Sarah Pierce of Third Way to offer a big-picture policy assessment of the year on immigration, including the Trump administration’s attacks on legal immigration pathways. Vanessa Cárdenas of America’s Voice will offer scene setting remarks and moderate the discussion.
Following speaker remarks, a Q&A session with assembled media will be held. To RSVP and receive details on how to join Thursday’s virtual event, please email press@americasvoice.org
