Our Nation Is Better Off Without Matt Gaetz as Attorney General

Statement of Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, Executive Director and CEO of MomsRising, the online and on-the-ground organization of more than one million mothers and their families, on former U.S. Representative Matt Gaetz withdrawing from consideration to serve as Attorney General of the United States:

“Good riddance to Matt Gaetz. Not only is he not qualified to be our nation’s top law enforcement officer, his disgraceful behavior since being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives should disqualify him from holding any public office. 

“Our nation is much better off – safer and more fair – without Matt Gaetz as Attorney General. Moms want a U.S. Attorney General who respects and upholds the law and pursues justice without political agendas. We urge President-Elect Trump to nominate a highly qualified person with integrity, expertise, experience, and an unwavering commitment to justice to serve as our Attorney General.”
