Business & Religious Leaders, Educators, Other Experts to Discuss How Mass Deportations Are Harming Yakima Families and Communities

At 3 PM Monday, June 30 at Centro Chinampa in Yakima, MomsRising and OneAmerica will host a news conference and roundtable discussion that brings together educators, religious and business leaders, families, and others to urge the state’s elected officials to reject harmful anti-immigrant actions and instead invest in Washington State families. Speakers will discuss the climate of fear that anti-immigrant rhetoric and policies are causing; the harm to Washington State families, businesses and the state’s economy; and the imperative to prioritize access to education, health care, and economic opportunity in order to create a more just and inclusive Washington State.
