America’s Moms Want a Fair Hearing Followed by a Senate Judiciary Committee Vote to Report Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Nomination to SCOTUS Favorably

Statement of Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, Executive Director and CEO of MomsRising, the online and on-the-ground organization of more than one million mothers and their families, on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that begins today on confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as an associate justice on the U.S. Supreme Court:

“America’s moms look forward to a fair Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on D.C. Circuit Court Judge Kentanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to serve as an associate justice on the U.S. Supreme Court, followed by a favorable Committee report on this superbly qualified nominee. President Biden’s nomination of Judge Jackson was brilliant and historic. She is a fair-minded jurist with exceptional credentials, who the U.S. Senate has already confirmed three times, each time with bipartisan support. Judge Jackson’s record demonstrates that she is fair and impartial, with a strong commitment to equal justice under the law. Her experience as a public defender will be a very welcome and long overdue asset on our highest court. Confirmation of Judge Jackson will strengthen the Supreme Court’s commitment – and our country’s commitment – to fairness, privacy, dignity, and equal rights for all. Every U.S. Senator should vote to confirm her.”
