We launched our Crowd-Feeding platform in June 2014 and hosted our first food drive campaign over the summer, partnering with Curbing Hunger and a number of other terrific organizations. The campaign raised over 56,000 LBS of food, including tons of fresh produce, to help those facing food insecurity in NJ (our home base is the Garden State!).

We’re looking to build upon that success with An Apple A Day - a crowd-feeding food drive campaign designed to raise lots of healthy food, educate people about the cool things people and organizations are doing to help fight hunger and to build community.  We’re excited to be partnering with Food Day, #GivingTuesday, America’s Charities, Veggiecation and a number of other fantastic organizations.  People and organizations who want to join our campaign can find more info here.

There are millions of food drives run each year to support more than 50,000 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and youth organizations in the United States - all done the old fashioned way. Our vision is to  turn the billions of canned goods donated to all of those  food drives into billions of apples, bananas, carrots, sweet potatoes and other healthy food items.  To do that, we’ve re-imagined food drives using the same sharing economy principles as Uber, AirBnB and others to help make a bigger difference in the lives of those struggling with hunger.

Amp Your Good’s crowd-feeding platform radically changes and improves how food drives work by replacing the traditional physical collection model with an online donation model.  Similar to crowdfunding, people and organizations set up food drives hosted on our platform at no cost.  However, instead of donating money, supporters choose the food items they would like to donate and pay for them via a standard e-commerce purchase.  When a drive ends, we deliver all of the food directly to the food pantry, soup kitchen or shelter supported by the drive.  Nothing ever sits in a collection box.

Transparency - We make it as easy to donate food as it is to donate money so people know exactly how they are helping out.

Impact - people can donate fresh produce items and other high impact food items rather than traditional canned goods, which are oftentimes the least nutritious food.

More food! - Drives raise more food on our platform and every donation counts due to our “wedding registry” feature.

The #1 coping strategy for those faced with hunger is to buy cheap, unhealthy food.  We can all make a bigger impact with our food donations if we contribute fresh produce and other healthy foods instead of what we are used to donating - canned goods and other non-perishable items.
