“At 2,700 events around the country – and the world – on Saturday, America’s moms helped power the largest demonstration in modern history, sending the message that we won’t let this President trample our Constitution, destroy our democracy, take away our health care, undermine our schools, militarize our streets, ignore due process and disappear our immigrant neighbors, or silence any one of us. MomsRising was a national organizing partner for No Kings.

“Moms are energized and mobilized in an even bigger way after Republican leaders in Congress followed President Trump’s lead by taking health care away from more than 17 million people through Medicaid cuts, and now they are threatening to keep our federal government shuttered unless they can end Affordable Care Act tax credits, which would increase health care costs for 24 million more of us. Moms know our country can afford health care, fund education, make child care and elder care affordable, and support SNAP if we stop giving tax breaks for private jets to billionaires and wealthy corporations and stop funding family separations, human rights abuses, and actions that terrify hardworking immigrants, who are essential to our workforce, our economy, and our future.

“On Saturday, moms sent the message that our priorities should be lawmakers’ priorities, that we want lower costs; affordable health care, child care, food and housing; immigration policies that balance security and compassion; and good jobs. We will continue speaking out, marching, registering friends to vote, sharing our stories, voting in every race on our ballots in every election, writing letters, using social media, and taking action until they hear us. Moms know that, in the United States, the only person wearing a crown should be Lady Liberty.
