Key Takeaways:
  • Four Years Since Dobbs: It has been four years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, stripping away nearly 50 years of protected constitutional rights to abortion care.
  • Relentless Attacks on Health Care: Despite widespread public support for reproductive freedom, anti-choice lawmakers continue to push for severe abortion bans, challenge FDA-approved medications like mifepristone, and restrict access to emergency maternal care.
  • Take Action Now: Join moms and allies across the nation in telling Congress to defend our basic human right to control our own bodies and health choices.

Women across this country are losing the right to make decisions about their own bodies! Four years ago today, on June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court made a choice that changed our country for the worse. They overturned Roe v. Wade. This decision took away a constitutional right to abortion care that had been protected for nearly 50 years.

But we stand firm to keep fighting for the lives of women and moms. Sign our letter to Congress now!

The Relentless Attacks on Reproductive Health Care

Since that day, the situation has gotten much worse. The attacks on reproductive health care are relentless, even though polls show that the majority of Americans believe everyone should be able to make decisions about their own bodies. [1]

Many Republican leaders in Congress are putting their personal beliefs ahead of our freedoms. They are trying to stop people from making their own medical decisions about their bodies and their futures. They are trying to ban abortion for as many people as possible, including our veterans, with no exceptions for rape or incest. [2] They are even doing this in states like Missouri, where voters actually went to the polls and voted to protect access to abortion care. [3]

Tell Congress to ensure that pregnant people have the power to make medical decisions about their own bodies!

Defending Science and Safe Medication

Now, anti-choice congressional leaders are also attacking science. They have pushed for a review of a medication called mifepristone, that the FDA approved decades ago. [4] This pill is used for both abortions and miscarriage care. It has a 25-year record of being incredibly safe and more than 7.5 million people in the United States have used it. [5]

The Supreme Court took away Roe v. Wade and many Republican leaders are still trying to chip away at our health care. Because to be clear — abortion IS health care. They do not get the final say over our lives. That power belongs to us!

Tell your congressional representatives to stand up for our right to control our own bodies and health choices.

A Deepening Crisis for Maternal Health Care

Finally, these recent abortion laws are restricting and confusing access to maternal health care, which has threatened the lives of mothers who are pregnant and/or miscarrying. In the past four years, we have seen doctors and hospitals refuse to assist women who are in danger during or after a miscarriage. [6]

Thank you for standing up, taking action, and making your voice heard today.

Thanks for all you do,

Frequently Asked Questions — Reproductive Freedom Under Attack

How safe is the medication mifepristone?

Mifepristone is an FDA-approved medication that has been safely used by more than 7.5 million people in the United States over the last 25 years. Decades of clinical evidence prove that medication abortion using mifepristone is an incredibly safe and highly effective method for both abortion and miscarriage management.

What has happened to emergency maternal care since the Dobbs decision?

Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, severe state-level abortion bans have created widespread confusion and fear among medical professionals. As a result, there have been numerous reports of doctors and hospitals refusing to provide timely emergency care to pregnant people experiencing life-threatening complications or miscarriages.

Why are congressional leaders targeting veterans' access to reproductive health care?

Anti-choice members of Congress have targeted veterans and active-duty service members by attempting to block the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) from providing abortion counseling and services, even in cases of rape, incest, or when the life of the pregnant individual is endangered.
