ICYMI: Protecting children was a top priority for the MomsRising community this past week. Together we raised our voices, shared our stories and rose to defend ALL moms, children and families. Check out these 4 posts that you liked, shared or might have missed for the week ending July 10, 2020.

INSTAGRAM: Free the families

U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee has ordered the release of children from detention centers by July 17, but she only has jurisdiction over the children--not their parents or caretakers.

We are demanding the release of these children and their families, because not ONE more child should be separated from their families.

INSTAGRAM: Justice for Vanessa Guillen

The last time Vanessa Guillen, a 20-year-old soldier, was seen was on April 22 at the parking lot of her barracks in Fort Hood. On Tuesday, June 30, human remains were found near Fort Hood that are believed to be hers.

We are joining Vanessa's family to demand a congressional investigation.

SHARE YOUR STORY: Talk to Us About Your COVID-19 Back-to-School Concerns

One of the most powerful ways MomsRising makes real change is to amplify the voices of mothers and make sure decision makers at every level HEAR and ACT on your concerns.

As states and districts around the country start to roll out plans for getting kids back to school and child care, we know it has created questions and anxiety for you.

Hundreds of moms have shared their concerns with us already. We're listening, so we can take strong action.

MEMBER VOICES: 100 Postcards

Voter postcards are hot, hot, hot in the MomsRising community. It's a tangible, fun and effective way to connect with moms and encourage them to vote.

Check out member Hazel Wheeler's take on her MomsRising voter postcard project.

Lizbeth. Maria. Windo. Eusra. Shamia. Dezaray. Sarah. Rakeba. Hui. Anika. Catherine. Elinette. These are the names on the postcards I write, one hundred in all...

Maybe that postcard is the one thing just for her on the day she receives it. That she exists outside of being a mother to her children. An acknowledgement that she matters and can make a difference.
