Nearly 2,800 MomsRising members across all 50 states signed up to hand-deliver our Families Over Billionaires storybook filled with powerful personal stories to their U.S. representatives during the April congressional recess. These storybooks—crafted from thousands of voices—are shining a spotlight on what’s at stake for families when Medicaid, SNAP, education, and child care are on the chopping block.

Stories like Ashley's from Pennsylvania:

"Our child has multiple disabilities that require significant medical and educational support. We tried to meet these costs through employer-provided insurance for over a decade. Last year, faced with thousands of dollars of uncovered expenses, we finally applied for and received Medicaid for our child. This has been life-changing. We no longer need to choose between getting our child the medical care he needs and paying our other bills. We are able to access medications and therapies that have improved his ability to function at home and at school that we would not be able to afford on employer-provided insurance. Please put our family and others like us ahead of the corporations and billionaires.”

You can read more stories from our storybook (and share them with your friends, family, and decisionmakers in your community) here.

This all-hands-on-deck effort brought our message directly to lawmakers’ front doors: Stop the budget cuts. Invest in families.

*Take action now! Tell Congress: choose families over billionaires!
