Click over to LiteraryMama.com where movie critic and San Franciscan Caroline Grant writes about viewing "The Motherhood Manifesto" at a house party, one of many happening throughout the country.

Her report's worth reading in full, so follow the link. Instead, here's a taste from one of the comments.

"Thank you for writing this inspiring column! Activism is on my "to-do" list, (after raising the children, writing the books, etc.) but I think I'm going to stop by MomsRising now and see if there's anything I can fit into my schedule right now, today. I guess if I want to change the world, I can't afford to wait -- especially if my goal is that someday, when my daughter becomes a mother, she and her friends will laugh at the archaic notion of six-week maternity leave and other travesties of bygone days, safe in the knowledge that their country hears their needs and is working for them and their children." -Elrena Evans
