I am a mother of two, an educator and advocate. I have worked in the school system for over 15 years and have been a community leader for 5. I am the CEO of my families non profit Save ONE Ministries, our mission is to provide impoverished communities policy literacy and community building strategies. I also founded and created Writers On The RISE, which is a youth focused advocacy and writing program. These young writers presented with proven tools and strategies to write to Congress and pass Louisiana English Language Arts standardized tests. Lastly, I have been a volunteer RESULTS.org for 5 years, I am a proud member of RESULTS Experts on Poverty and the newly elected Grassroots Board Member where I now serve as the Secretary of the Executive Board.

No one wants a child to go hungry, but in the world’s wealthiest nation, hunger is a very real problem in the lives of students living in poverty.
