The storybooks are all printed and we have bright colored kites made by little kids calling for Congress to pass working family policies like paid sick days, affordable child care, minimum wage, equal pay, and paid family leave.

The only thing missing is YOU!

Join us on June 24th (TOMORROW!) to help deliver to Senate offices kites and stories from working families around the country? RSVP here: http://action.momsrising.org/signup/CapitolHillJune24/.

We need a lift! Right now, American families are trapped by our outdated, Mad Men-era work place policies: 80% of low-wage workers, and 40% of private industry workers are unable to earn even a single sick day to care for themselves or a family member, full-time workers often can’t make a living wage, having a baby is a leading cause of poverty spells in the United States, and child care costs more than college.

We need a lift and Congress needs a push in the right direction. MomsRising needs moms, dads, and family members to literally show up on June 24th to use our outside voices so Senators know we’re counting on them to help our families and our nation soar.

Can you join us? http://action.momsrising.org/signup/CapitolHillJune24/

Who: YOU and MomsRising members from around DC (along with a few special moms who are flying in from California, Colorado, North Carolina, and Florida). Feel free to bring your kids and friends along. The more the merrier!

What: Deliver kites and storybooks on issues and policies that matter to working families to U.S. Senators.

When: Tuesday, June 24th 9:15am-11:30am

Where: Hart Senate Office Building Lobby (right next to the giant black mountain sculpture). Once you RSVP we’ll send you more details.

We hope you will join us as we spread the message about the importance of policies that support working families! Every voice, every mom, is needed to spread our message across Capitol Hill!!

So will we see you tomorrow?

Also, if you want something fun to do with the kids today, you can make your own kites and bring them along so we can deliver them to Senators tomorrow. Find more info here: http://www.momsrising.org/blog/lets-fly-a-kite-for-working-families
