If women decide having children is too perilous an undertaking, and fewer children are born, our nation will suffer. Public policy, or how the laws of the land hinder or help parents and families fulfill their function, impact us in very direct and personal ways. Not enough people see today’s families in the light of carrying on the future of our society. They only see the drain on present resources. Single moms are often in the spotlight for the financial assistance they need to help support their family. People don’t think about the consequences of not taking care of the children of single mothers.
