Scientists working on this subject seem to think that diets can help.  One mentioned, for instance, an experiment in which mice carrying a gene that makes them susceptible to cancer and diabetes and obesity were fed a diet rich in &#039;methyl donors&#039; (small chemical clusters that can attach to a gene and turn it off), such as onions, garlic, beets and the food supplements given to pregnant women.
How about also consulting an integrative pediatrician or internist?  Did you notice my article on that subject?  They could definitely suggest ways to reserve the situation.
