Want to help prove the Wall Street Journal wrong about moms?  Here's what a piece they recently ran said about moms voting: "Now, apparently, mothers are just really tired. The recession has slammed our families, we’re working harder than ever and we no longer care much about voting." The piece went on to say: "All these worn-out moms need to do is stay home to impact the elections," while at the same time noting that voter turnout is particularly important in midterm elections.[1]

We're not THAT tired! Let's prove the Wall Street Journal wrong! If women sit out the election, we all lose.

Clearly awakening the inner voter of moms across the nation is a job for MomsRising members! You are powerful, wise, and inspirational!  Click on this link to pledge to vote and tell us all why you're voting (and forward this email to friends too!).  We'll put your pledge and inspirational words on a map which we'll use to inspire other moms, dads, and grandparents around the nation to vote by this coming Tuesday, November 2nd.

*Click here to pledge to vote on or before Nov. 2nd and share why you're voting:http://action.momsrising.org/go/461

You can make a critical difference getting out the vote in an election year that is extremely important to families!

Times are tough, and families are hurting.  In the coming months, Congress is poised to make important decisions which impact us all, including about whether or not to extend unemployment insurance benefits, whether to continue moving forward with new provisions which make it illegal for insurance companies to deny coverage for people with preexisting conditions, and whether we will invest in families who are struggling to make ends meet or instead spend massive amounts on tax breaks for the wealthy.

We all need to go out and make our voices heard tomorrow by voting!  Don't forget to pledge to vote here and tell us why you're voting here:

Tracy, a MomsRising member from Colorado says: "I'm voting because my 7 year old son has a rare form of cancer and I want to make sure that Congress continues new consumer protections that prohibit lifetime caps on insurance coverage. I'm grateful to have one less thing to worry about."

Check out the map to find out why MomsRising members near you are voting--and to share why you're voting too!

*And, please take a moment to share this blogpost to awaken the inner voter of all the moms, dads, and people who have moms in your circle.

Thanks for being an awake voter!

P.S. Are you on Facebook?  You can put an "I'm voting" sticker on your Facebook wall to remind your Facebook friends to vote too by clicking here:http://action.momsrising.org/go/460
