WASHINGTON, D.C.—I just got back from the Blogalicious Conference, an annual gathering of African American and Latina women bloggers. I couldn’t be more excited.
I learned that some Latina MomsRising contributing bloggers and blogging partners — myself included! — were nominated by our colleagues in Latinos in Social Media (LATISM) for awards. LATISM is an online network of 140,000+ Latinos. What an honor to be recognized among so much talent!
Please consider taking a minute to cast your votes for our MomsRising bloggers:
Best Latina Bilingual Blogger…Silvia Martinez
Best Health Blogger…Laura Tellado
Best Political Blogger…Marisa Treviño
Best Activist Blogger…Elisa Batista
Best Vlogger…Carrie Weir
Best Social Network Leader…Ana Flores
Best Non-For-Profit Organization using Social Media to Reach Latinos…National Council for La Raza
Congratulations and many thanks to these exceptional writers for blogging at MomsRising.org and/or mentioning the organization in their blogs!
Now onto other news from the Blogalicious Conference: the conference itself was small – 320 in attendance. But I liked that I could take my time networking and actually meet everyone there. I also could attend as many sessions and parties I wanted without any scheduling conflicts.
I spent a lot of time with my fellow Latina bloggers, like Dariela Cruz from the Mami Talks blog — another exceptional MomsRising contributing blogger! — and LATISM founder and chair, Ana Roca Castro:

Ana’s LATISM colleague Elianne Ramos and I posed with other Latina bloggers for this reunion shot:

Smack in the middle of the pack is Ana Flores from Spanglish Baby, a great blog about raising bilingual children.
Again, it is such a pleasure to be honored publicly with these accomplished women. Thank you all for reading our stories and for your votes in the LATISM awards!
